The life of Nakht-Ankh is also known through the documentation of his mummified remains. His mummy, one of the best preserved of the Middle Kingdom, was found in the necropolis of Qubbet el-Hawa near Aswan. This mummy has contributed to further research on health, life and death in ancient Egypt.

Among other things, it was analyzed for its genetic haplogroup, which provides information about the origin of Nakht-Ankh's genome. A haplogroup is a genetic population characterized by certain unique genetic variations or mutations. These mutations are transmitted from generation to generation and can therefore be used to trace an individual's genetic ancestry.
